What to feed an American Staffordshire Terrier puppy?
This question worries everyone who has just purchased a puppy or plans to do so.

To date, the following types of feeding are common among dog owners:
1. Ready-made professional feed.
2. Natural (cooked at home) food.
3. Mixed feeding.
We will not describe the pros and cons of each type of feeding - it will take many pages, let's just say that in our kennel "Strider in Diversity" all dogs receive professional dry food that meets their age and physiological needs.
Ready (dry) food
Frequency of feeding:
- up to 6 months - three to four times a day,
- up to 1 year - twice a day, and in winter three times a day,
- after a year, you can switch to a one-time meal, but it is more competent to feed twice a day.
We recommend the following companies:
Royal Canin (made in France) - high quality professional super premium food. Our cattery has an agreement with an official distributor, so the possibility of purchasing counterfeit products is excluded. The line of food for puppies in the first year of life will satisfy all his needs.
Optimeal (made in Ukraine) is a premium food. For dogs prone to allergies, we recommend hypoallergenic food with salmon.
Foods such as Chicopee (Chikoppi) and Brit Care (Brit Kare) have proven themselves well.
Our kennel has a direct contract with manufacturers, so the owners of our puppies, when ordering food through the kennel, receive a guaranteed discount.
Attention! Water should always be.
Vegetables and fruits can be given in unlimited quantities if the puppy is ready to consume them.
Once - twice a week - give 100 grams of raw meat.
Natural food
Natural dog food is food that is prepared in your home and especially for your puppy.
The daily diet should include meat products, cereals, vegetables, dairy products and mineral supplements.
All ingredients must be in a certain ratio and match the age of the dog. This ratio is very important to observe and very difficult to find.
Periodically you need to add: eggs - every other day (do not give raw protein), raw boneless sea fish - 3 times a week, you can give squid - 2 times a month. Meat offal (liver and heart) - 2 times a week, they must be doused with boiling water.
Water should always be.
The number of feedings is 3 at a strictly defined time.
Carefully control the freshness and quality of the products from which you prepare food for your pet.
Mixed feeding
To date, this is the most common type of feeding, unfortunately. The dog is fed with meat, and cottage cheese, and cereals, and dry food, often mixing several different companies - "for taste and variety."
This is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN!!!
A few words about top dressing.
Now a truly feeding paradise reigns on the shelves of pet stores. The choice is simply huge - both imported, and expensive, and domestic, and cheap, and it is not at all clear which ones. And there is no competent sales assistant in the store. And the one that is, does not know what your particular dog needs at this particular moment, because he does not think, but is guided only by general instructions.
Therefore, when choosing top dressing, remember that any top dressing was created to solve a specific problem in a dog and its use as a prophylactic general tonic is unacceptable!
